After losing to #20 Iowa tonight, #25 (but not for long) Ohio State is 17-9.

The same as Michigan State, which is #25 in the coaches rankings. The Buckeyes are #24 with the coaches, #25 with the Associated Press writers.

Kind of makes WVU’s 19-7 look better although the victory in Cleveland over then-#2 Ohio State has become greatly tarnished.

I guess the Buckeyes never recovered from their chop-down by their neighbors on the other side of the Ohio River.

So how do you calculate the value of a coach and what exactly determines a salary? Holtman is the third highest paid coach in the country at over 7 mil a year + incentives! This is a whole other discussion but ties in with another thread discussing player movements.

Krzyzewski is the only coach from the ACC conference to crack the top 10, and Calipari is the only coach from the SEC. Four coaches from the Big Ten (Chris Holtmann, Tom Izzo, John Beilein and Archie Miller), two coaches from the Pac-12 (Sean Miller and Larry Krystkowiak) and two coaches from the Big 12 (Bill Self and Bob Huggins) made the list.

Whats interesting are the various buyout amounts which are all over the place. Huggins has one over 11 mil? And around 4 mil salary with incentives!

OSU had a bit of a mini-rally before the loss to Iowa. They are still 21 in the NET, and the Iowa loss (#27) isn’t a killer, although it obviously doesn’t help. And that lets you enjoy it over your Buckeye neighbors, CFE!

NCAA still considers Ohio State a big win.
