The West Virginia University rifle team ranks No. 1 in the first regular-season poll from the College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA).

The CRCA Poll rankings for this week are based off the highest aggregate score shot by each team.

TCU and Kentucky rank No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, followed by Murray State at No. 4 and Alaska-Fairbanks at No. 5.

Taking the No. 6 spot is Air Force, and Ohio State is No. 7. Checking in for the last three spots are Nevada at No. 8, Ole Miss at No. 9 and Jacksonville State at No. 10.

The Mountaineers will face six of the current top-10 teams this season.

The Mountaineers (2-0, 1-0 GARC) broke an NCAA record with their air rifle score of 2390 on Sept. 30 against Ohio State. WVU defeated Ohio State with an aggregate score of 4731.

WVU will travel this weekend to compete against Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) opponent Nebraska on Oct. 14, at 10 a.m., in Lincoln, Nebraska.
