The members of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) have selected April Messerly, WVU’s Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations, as President for the 2017-18 year.
This is Messerly’s fifth year on the CEFMA Board of Directors after serving as 1st Vice President in 2016-17, 2nd Vice President in 2015-16 and 3rd Vice President in 2014-15.
“In its few short years, CEFMA has become a nationally recognized organization, and it continues to grow each year,” said Messerly. “I am honored to serve on the Board of Directors to help further the growth of this national organization in all regards. Our Board will continue to evaluate the needs of our membership to advance our professional and educational opportunities in this industry.”
Messerly, entering her 18th year in the WVU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, oversees the day-to-day operations for all WVU athletic facilities, including Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium and the WVU Coliseum. She also serves as the Big 12 Conference game manager for WVU’s football and men’s basketball home games, works directly with the athletic department’s capital improvement projects and oversees all aspects of event management for WVU’s 18 varsity sports.
