I was looking at Hunter’s weight and height (as listed on this site), and he is 6’7″ and 184 pounds.   Meanwhile former string bean Lamont West, who will be a r/s sophomore,  is 6’7″  and up to 215  pounds.  Since D’Angelo is the only recruit with 2 years of (jc) collegiate playing experience, I’ve been expecting him to contribute this year.  But continued S & C and gain of some good weight is a must!

I think you make a point on D’Angelo Hunter and all the newcomers, in that it’s very important for them to get into school at WVU this summer (which all are reportedly going to do), so they can get into the Mountaineers’ strength and conditioning program as soon as possible. Hunter may not get to 215 by the time the season starts, but with a good strength and nutrition regime, he can probably get to 195 or 200 pounds by the time the season starts. In the past Teddy Allen, who currently is listed at 6-5, 220, has been too heavy, so he’s on the other end, but just as important that he gets to WVU to make sure he’s in shape for the beginning of the season. The newcomers are due to enroll at WVU on June 5, so we’ll see if they all are here at that point. Brandon Knapper is already enrolled, while Kevin Kinder has reported in the past week that Hunter, Allen and Wesley Harris have each indicated they will be at WVU at that point as well. That leaves only Derek Culver, and he’s told Kevin directly in the past that he’ll be eligible to enroll as well.

Greg, thanks for the reply.  I’m excited for all the recruits – basketball and football – to get here.  I’m really hoping that Culver makes it in.  The wait is about over.
