A member of the Georgia Class 6A preseason all state team, Uzebu has great reach and range from his right tackle position at Alpharetta High School. He is the third player from Georgia to commit to West Virginia this month, joining wide receiver Sam James and cornerback Jayce Rogers.
Uzebu, whose first name is Oyenmwen, chose WVU out of a top five of Syracuse, North Carolina State, Maryland, and USF. He announced that finalist list in late June, and visited the first three schools during a decision-making tour earlier this month. He piled up more than 20 offers during the recruiting process.
Uzebu had previously committed to Minnesota in April before backing off that pledge one month later.
