Morgantown, W.Va. – Despite playing without 11 players who were suspended for Saturday’s season opener, the Mountaineer football team opened up an 42-7 halftime lead over Eastern Kentucky

WVU scored touchdowns on six of its eight positions in the first two quarters.

West Virginia totaled 398 yards of total offense in the first half – 228 passing and 170 rushing. Mountaineer junior Leddie Brown had 123 yards on the ground on 10 carries. He had three TDs – two rushing and one receiving.

EKU had 154 total yards in the first half – 84 passing and 70 rushing.
