Who is serving as WVU’s pitching coach this season after Serrano was let go this past off-season after only one season.   Ginther who replaced him on the staff isn’t a pitching coach.  Was just curious because it seems as if the staff has really taken some huge steps forward this season—Snyder really comes to mind for me—almost like a light has come on for him.  Manoah also has become the true ace that many thought he could become after being just OK to good thru 2 years.   Thanks

Randy Mazey is handling the pitchers. There was a bit of a clash in philosophies with Serrano, and Mazey’s program, which he implemented when he came to WVU, is back in place.

With all due respect to Coach Serrano’s experience, there should have been a clash in philosophy and more.  Multiple pitchers last year needed adjustments to mechanics that were never addressed during the season, and the approach that was used during the course of the games left a lot to be desired.  I lost count last year of the number of times that we took a cautious approach to batters at or below the Mendoza line and would end up walking the hitter or giving up a hit.
