When Esa is on his game, he’s as good as any Wing in the country. There aren’t many kids out there that can guard 1 thru 5. We saw a little of that yesterday when he took on the PG coming over the half court line thru the first screen/switch. This was an effective move by Huggs to negate some of the screens.
But….. when Esa just fades into the background, he’s a liability. If he plays to his potential for the rest of this year we could go deep. If he plays to his potential next year he will be a 1st rounder. If not he’s a G league at best.
