Heading out to College Park shortly. Weather looks great, battling DC traffic the only factor for today, just hoping it’s not as bad as going to Fed Ex Field a few years ago. Historically it’s been ok, but anytime in DC it’s obviously something to contend with.
Greg and I will be on scene and bringing you all the coverage you’ve come to expect.
The Pride of West Virginia has made its way to Maryland Stadium and is now coming down the steps to its seats in the lower section adjacent to the end zone.
Scouts from the Lions, Bengals, Steelers, Bills, Saints and Falcons are in attendance at today’s WVU/UM game.
WVU tight end Mike O’Laughlin is in College Park but not dressed as he’s been dealing with an injury. Running back Tony Mathis and defensive lineman Darel Middleton are also not expected to be available today.
Without O’Laughlin, WVU’s tight ends today will be T.J. Banks, Charles Finley and Treylan Davis.
Parker Moorer is getting the first-team reps at right tackle for WVU and is likely to start, though true freshman Wyatt Milum is expected to rotate in at that spot.
WVU wins the coin toss but defers. The officiating crew is from the Big 12.
Maryland converts its opening drive into points, taking a 3-0 lead with a 45-yard field goal.
Swing pass from Doege to Brown covers 20 yards to the end zone. WVU takes a 7-3 lead with 8:52 left in the first quarter.
