Great game! But…..
Not sure if the game the defense played was not as much of a
factor in the win as was Doege’s play. The big factor in his favor
coming in was experience! When you have played a whole season
at this level and passed for over 4000 yds and over 35 TD’s ,
you are experienced! Kendall was not! And he showed it!
But looking at the chronological order of how things happened
in the accessing of qbs, Brown was in a situation of “damn if
I do and damn if I don’t ” in a decision of changing qbs!
The loyalty factor along with team unity had to come into play!?
It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the future!
Hope for the best!November 18, 2019 at 10:00 am #104133
There are definitely some different factors in play going forward.
I know Kendall was not happy, but that’s ok from a competitive standpoint. Should WVU win its last two and get a bowl, he would be the QB in the bowl game.
Great analysis on Doege’s experience, even if it was the MAC, he has played under fire a ton. This was Kendall’s first year playing under duress. I thought he was ok, but Doege did show better against K-State.November 18, 2019 at 2:49 pm #104173
A good QB is a leader and has the innate ability to inspire team mates to play, at times, a little above their own ability. JD seems to possess that quality.
