dawg – While we’d love to see that, the uncertainty of today’s world is probably pushing more people to opt for the financial security. Oscar is very likely to be a first-round projection for next year’s draft, and a guaranteed contract in today’s world is even more attractive than what it was last year.
If Oscar is going to be a 1st rounder next year then he should stay in the draft. If there is speculation that he will drop to the 2nd then it’s iffy. IMO he needs to develop an outside game quickly to be considered a 1st rounder. His numbers as a FR were somewhat similar to Sag’s as a SO and Sags showed that he did have the touch, although limited and mostly uncovered at first from deep. But he did hit some.
If he doesn’t show he can shoot it from deep and put it on the floor for more than a back to the bucket dribble he will have a hard time in the draft. Without that most likely he’ll be pegged as a true C and most true C’s in the NBA are much bigger than 6’8″.
