I guess Huggs has thrown in the towel; but I can’t blame him. I don’t know what can be done with this team.

I appreciate the efforts of a very small handful of guys on this squad–none other than Beetle. He’s pure gold–not because of his scoring total today, but the overall effort and determination he ALWAYS provides, playing out of position (despite the multitude of injuries he has suffered through–all the while downplaying them). At the same time, a surging Derek Culver is something truly special to watch unfold. Other than a hustling Jordan McCabe that’s a gym rat, and a streaky Lamont West, and there’s not much else to be hopeful about, much less swell the chest of this Mountaineer fan.

We’ve all witnessed Huggs try every conceivable combination, even to the degree of pulling a RS year on a promising young guard. All to no avail. Even in the Coli, where teams once feared to enter. No more. The gates are now wide open, even welcoming the team that was picked to finish last, with open arms. Now, seemingly, ANYONE can come to the Coli for an easy win against the newest cupcake on the block.

As a result, this team has become the quintessential example of a Chinese fire drill on both ends of the court.
