So it is win and get in the championship game. Of course beating Oklahoma would mean no Big 12 team in the playoffs but win Friday then win the championship game and WVU goes to the Sugar Bowl so a lot to play for.

    Without question.

Also, if WVU could win Friday, even if it loses the champ game, might it still sneak in to a NY6 Bowl? Maybe not, but would really love to go back to the Peach Bowl or to the Fiesta.

Talked to Peach Bowl reps at the OSU game, they know WVU’s history there.

B12 isn’t getting a team in no matter what.

Domers, Meatchicken or UGA have the 3 and 4 spots locked up.  2 of them would have to lose and that ain’t happenin.   Even if it did, somehow, someway WSU would jump over OSU.  The committee would guarantee it.  The fix is already in.

I felt before the season, that this team would go 10-2 (though after the 3-0 start, thought they should go 10-1, following the cancelled game and great showing to that point), with a loss to UT and one they should win, but wouldn’t (cue in Iowa State). I felt they would beat OU.

Who knows how it will turn out on Friday, but I will say this: My 90 year old mother could line up and score on those bums–but at times, she could also score on WVU’s defense. WVU will need to score on nearly every single possession, while at least playing somewhat better on the other side of the ball if it will have a snowball’s chance of winning–or so it seems heading into this.

I will also say that if WVU blows this one–season finale and Senior Night, it will absolutely rip the soul out of this fan base. And there’s no other team in the Big 12 that has a whoopin’ coming at the hands of the Mountaineer fans more than the land thieves…

The Big 12 is guaranteed to get at least one team in the NY6. The league champion gets a spot in the Sugar Bowl. Nothing the committee can do about that.

Sugar Bowl is a guarantee. But no way even if OU W’s on Fri and W’s in the B12 conf game do they even get a sniff.

I get it that a 0 L team gets in. It’s hard to go undefeated in a season. But hell, If we had Clemson’s schedule we’d be undefeated. So would OU and Maybe even TX and ISU. The ACC is SOOOOOOOOOO overrated this year. They have nothing other than Clemson. Let’s see if they get exposed in the championship games.

Proof of your comment has only the reality of the first four game “playoff” that featured not one, but TWO Big 12 teams that should have been part of the makeup, yet NEITHER of them were included. Yes, I remember that inaugural year, and won’t EVER forget it. That was absolutely shameful, despite its “outcome,” that made the “committee” come out smelling like roses.

The whole thing is a sham, no matter how they spin it, year by effin’ year.

As for our Mountaineers, it will again be playing for a consolation prize, but they will still be our Mountaineers, regardless. And we will still back them 100% and above, expecting nothing less of them as they go about their business. And that IS something to be proud of, despite of–and IN spite of the odds stacked against us.
