WVU Feels The CBI Can Be Helpful MORGANTOWN, W.Va.–It’s not the situation the Mountaineer men’s basketball team wanted to be in, but now that they are

I’m surprised that Dan Majerle hasn’t moved on to another program.  He’s doe pretty well at GCU.

Now without Doomes, we will be 1 more player short.  Horton may be called upon to give more relief.

It’s possible, but Doomes was ruled out of the Big 12 champ games due to his “busted lip”. Was that a concussion, or something else? Huggs said he should be able to play on the Tuesday before it started, but he wasn’t in the lay-up line, although he was on the court. I asked him after the OU game and he said he thought he could play the next day, but it didn’t look like he was cleared. Other than his personal health, which I hope is ok, it doesn’t matter now, but WVU was playing in KC without him anyway.

It’s possible Horton gets a couple of minutes due to fatigue, foul trouble or if WVU isn’t playing with intensity, but at this point I think we see all the minutes going to McCabe, Haley, Harler, Knapper, West, Matthews, Culver, Routt and Gordon.

WVU is only -4.5 tonight.  Vegas smells a really difficult game for the Mountaineers.

"Confidence is a lot of this game or any game. If you don't think you can, you won't. "

GCU’s size could cause some problems.  Their pack line D could open up some deep shots for us.  Hopefully West will find the range along with McCabe and Knapper.

Good game to practice the press!

    Big guy defect!

    we might hit 90 !

If WVU wins its next game against Coastal Carolina, would they host the next game?

Almost certainly WVU will host again in the semifinals, which will be played on Wednesday, March 27. The opponent isn’t definite yet, though, as the CBI will rearrange the bracket after the quarterfinal round, assumably to get the matchups that make the most geographic sense in the semifinals. In a tournament like this, travel costs matter so they don’t want Loyola-Marymount flying to Morgantown and South Florida going to Utah Valley if they can avoid it. So if they can, West Coast teams will stay in the west, and the east will stay in the east in the semifinals.

    Thanks, Greg.

You would think that if the favored team(Home Team) wins on Mon the reshuffling would be

    DePaul @ WVU

    Loyola Marymount @ USF

Trying to match up the two best teams in WVU and USF in the final.

100% that WVU will host a semifinal game if it beats Coastal, as we reported last week.

If WVU makes the championship round, it will play the first game on the road, then host the second, and the third, if necessary.
