Odd that we get Kansas as the second game. Usually the first 3 are OOC games.
Are all 4 of the newbs, BYU, Houston, Cincy, UCF all starting in 2023? OUT leaving at the same time?
This isn’t the same game that West, Hundly played.
Best place for the fans is either Memphis or NYC. Easier drive. More fans will attend.
Best place for the team is in a warm climate that they can spend an extra day or two to enjoy the time away …… and the bowl that gives the best “prize” package. I know, I know. All the packages are capped at the same $$$ amount. But some are better than others.
Kevin, I see your point on Moorer. Passed by a player in the same eligibility class. Looked like he would be behind Milum on one side and Yates on the other in the same eligibility class. Move inside? Nester and Gmiter are more experienced and the next year in eligibility. And with the other FR in the fold it may be hard for him to break into the starting lineup unless there is an injury. Then we have 4 OL coming in as FR. But all in all, losing anyone in the 2 deep hurts depth.
And agree with Cowan. Always injured. Just couldn’t stay healthy and passed over by Bartlett. We have other talented FR that are getting a chance also. Last Targeting call at inopportune time hurt. But again, losing a 2 deep player hurts. Can’t speak to any other problems on or off the field. Maybe addition by subtraction is a good thing here. You guys closer to the program would know.
RR was asking for things that could have possibly brought this program up another notch. Unfortunately these things would bring the NCAA down on the program. Things that the Blue Bloods do all the time but don’t get caught because they are …. well ….. Blue Bloods.
That and the fact that RR was full of himself and loved the attention from the other Blue Blood programs. Always looking for the next step. If it wasn’t Bama it was Meatchicken and it would have continued. Good coaches leave for “greener” pastures. Riley and Kelly anyone?
Beginning of the 2nd half vs Belarmine he showed some grit. Then a couple misses in a row on run outs where he was the last line of D and just didn’t go after the guy. Huggs pulled him for a talk after that.
Normally not the same bowl back to back. But WVU is a draw and Memphis is close enough for a drive.
7 B12 teams bowl eligible. WVU is #6. If OKSt doesn’t get one of the 4, the #6 team is slotted for the Guarantee Bowl in Phoenix.
If OKSt gets one of the 4 then the #6 team is slated for the Liberty in Memphis.
But the straight slotting isn’t always followed. Can move up or down a slot depending on what the bowls want in matchups.
I still like Memphis. Easy drive. Will have more WVU fans there. Not as warm, but Memphis is a nice place to visit. Great Food. Great Music.
End of the bench guys get 5+ mins.
Got a little sloppy at the end, but that’s what you get in a blow out like this.
TO’s about avg. 14,14,10,10,12,8,and 12 this game
Little sloppy at the end but nice to see the bench guys get more than just 1 touch.
Curry just loves that drive left with the underhand scoop shot.
And he just can’t hit a FT. For a G that is absolutely horrible.
Kedy with the cross body block. Puts the defender on the floor.
Taj sighting. he’s getting a few minutes.
Seny 2 rebounds 1 min.
Seny battling in the paint. Good to see.
Time for Taz to sit and take it easy the rest of the game.
I’d like to see a very small lineup out there.
Johnson, Johnson, Wilson, McNeil, Bridges. These guys would run and shoot.
Cottrell slow to cover the cutter. shook his head after the basket. He knew he missed the cover.
Curry drives right into a double team and tied up. UGH…
Gabe doing Gabe. Steal. then deflected it out of bounds again.
Would like to see more of Wilson, Kobe and Cottrell. These guys need to get some floor time. Especially Cottrell.
