Absolutely! Who wouldn’t??June 22, 2018 at 11:43 am in reply to: Carter Moves Up In Draft; Gets Great Spot With Memphis Grizzlies #60817
I hope he makes it in the NBA; I respect and admire the young man. No matter what happens, he will be a success because he understands what it takes to succeed.
Excellent analysis. I’m not a basketball coach, but Huggins’ defense in general looks complex to me. It will take a while for these talented newcomers to catch on. One thing’s for certain: they’ll play defense with a lot of energy and determination, or they won’t play. (Even with JC and Sags, we at times had some lapses on defense last year that were sort of head-scratching. But, of course, the Big 12 competition had something to do with that too.)
We’ve overscheduled. In time, that will become clear.May 4, 2018 at 10:01 am in reply to: Team First Approach Suffers In Today’s Sports Settings #58956
Good article by Mr. Hertzel and absolutely right in my opinion.
No one is blaming the kid, and everyone understands the financial situation. But if he comes back for one more year, he might play in the NBA, not Europe.
Yes, Jevon Carter might be the best example possible of someone who bought in to Huggs’ “tough love” and prospered as a result. I don’t think most guys in their late teens and early 20s could handle Huggs’ style; I know I couldn’t at that age. Usually, you have to get a little bit older to realize that persons who are trying to get you to work your butt off are actually your best friends on earth.
Seems just right to me.
It was indeed a special feel. I’ve rarely seen such a display of love and admiration at a sporting event. Dax and Jevon got the finale they deserve!
The Big 12 is “incredibly average.” No team from the Big 12 will make the Final Four.
Watched every second of the Super Bowl and had a great time! I have a strange way of supporting un-American values, like the freedom to engage in peaceful protest. BTW, I was one of those people singing the National Anthem on Saturday with my hand over my heart. Some of our American patriots need to read some history and discover what America is all about–freedom, including the freedom of a black man to protest what he perceives to be racism in our country. Whether you agree or disagree with how a person chooses to exercise his/her freedom, hating a fellow American for opposing racism is the opposite of patriotism. You’d be at home in a totalitarian society.February 4, 2018 at 12:57 pm in reply to: Energy & Execution Surprisingly High In Victory Over Kansas State #50405
The defensive energy was superb, and the movement and passing on offense had K State befuddled. Now, we’ll see what this mysterious team does next.
I agree. The Big 12 did us no favors when it came to scheduling. But, as unpredictable as this team is, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we beat Oklahoma. Actually, nothing that happens in Big 12 basketball surprises me anymore.
Routt played very well, and that’s encouraging. We need him and Bender. I was watching Kentucky last night, and, man, they are tall. Not a great team yet, but imposing. Kentucky got a ton of offensive rebounds. We’re going to need Routt and Bender to provide some help for Sags in that game (and others of course), and Routt showed yesterday he can give us the quality minutes we need from him.
Anyway, yesterday’s game was a thing of beauty. I’m still glowing today.
Very impressive. I hope we continue our upward trajectory in wrestling. Now, let’s beat OU in basketball!
