Best Virginia has earned the No. 1 seed in the West Virginia Region of The Basketball Tournament, and will face No. 8 regional seed Virginia Dream in its first game on July 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center.

Joining Best Virginia in the region are:

Bucketneers (No. 2 seed)
WoCo Showtime (No. 3)
Herd That (No. 4)
Founding Fathers (No.5)
War Ready (No. 6)
Fully Loaded (No. 7)
Virginia Dream (No. 8)

Should Best Virginia and Herd That win their opening round games, they would face each other in the second round. Herd That faces Founding Fathers, composed largely of James Madison alums, at 5:00 p.m. on July 24.

In the afternoon prior to the evening main card, No. 2 Bucketneers (East Tennessee State) opens the day against Fully Loaded (Team Loaded AAU alumni) at noon, while WoCo Showtime (Wofford Alums) squares off against War Ready (Auburn) at 2:00 p.m.

This will be Virginia Dream’s first entry into the TBT. Featuring a number of players from smaller schools, the squad’s stated purpose is to “develop leaders, restore hope, and empower youth.”

The Virginia Dream has two alums from Bluefield University — Cordaris Townes and Niquan Cousins, and two from Radford: Devin Cooper and Ed Polite, Jr.

Best Virginia, in its third year in TBT, is 3-2 all-time in the event.

Eight regions, featuring eight teams apiece, will conduct games over two weeks in July. The winners of six of the eight regions will advance to Dayton for quarterfinal play, while two other will meet in Wichita.
