WVU has a bit more room in the locker room this week

For the third time in the past four years and the seventh time in the last 14 seasons, West Virginia’s men’s basketball team has advanced to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament.

This year’s East Regional semifinal foe is Villanova. The Mountaineers (26-10), who are the region’s fifth seed, face off against the No. 1 seed Wildcats (32-4) Friday night at TD Garden in Boston. Tipoff is slated for 7:27 p.m., and the game will be televised on TBS.

The BlueGoldNews.com crew of Kevin Kinder and Greg Hunter is in Boston to provide wall-to-wall coverage of West Virginia’s battle with Nova. If WVU wins Friday it will move on to the Elite Eight, where it will face the Purdue/Texas Tech winner on Sunday.
