Da’Sean Butler Going Strong In Germany
Former Mountaineer basketball player Da’Sean Butler turned 30 a couple weeks ago.
This is Butler’s third season with Ratiopharm Ulm of the German League. In all, he is in his eighth season playing professionally since leading WVU to the Final Four in 2010. After being drafted by the Miami Heat in the second round in 2010, Butler spent parts of 2010-11 and 2011-12 in the NBA Developmental league.
He then moved over season, playing in Latvia, Belguim and France before latching on with Ratiopharm in 2015.
Da’Sean is have a strong season for Ratiopharm. Butler is averaging q0.9 points and 4.7 rebounds through the team’s first 20 games. He’s converted 46.6 percent of his field goal tries, and he leads the club with 38 three-pointers, having made 43.7 percent of his 89 attempts from beyond the arch.
Ratiopharm currently holds a 12-8 record and is in seventh place in the 18-team German League.
