Former Mountaineers Finishing Up Overseas Seasons


West Virginia’s basketball season has been over for more than a month, but a number of former Mountaineers are still plying their trade on the hardwood.

While none are involved in the NBA playoffs, which are ongoing, a total of 27 former Mountaineers played professionally this past year. Most of those were on the roster of European squads, though others were spread out all over the globe. For some, their seasons concluded recently, but a number of foreign leagues are headed into the final weeks of their respective seasons.

Here is a look at how some of those former WVU players have done this season:

Joe Alexander, 14.7 points and 5.7 assists for Hapoel Holon of Israel

Kevin Jones

Gary Browne, 9.8 points and 4.1 assists for Ironi Nes-Ziona of Israel

Truck Bryant, 8.4 points and 1.8 assists for Leski Lukoil of Bulgaria

Da’Sean Butler, 10.3 points and 4.5 rebounds for Ratiopharm of Germany

Devin Ebanks, 21.7 points and 7.1 rebounds for Mens Sana 1871 of Italy

D’Or Fischer, 13.3 points and 9.7 rebounds for Shiga Lakestars of Japan

John Flowers, 11.6 points and 4.3 rebounds for Chalons-Reims of France

Jonathan Holton, 21.6 points and 11.9 rebounds for Plaza of the Dominican Republic

Kevin Jones, 11.4 points and 5.2 rebounds for Nanteree of France

Deniz Kilicli, 4.0 points and 1.5 rebounds or Demir IBB of Turkey

Elijah Macon, 11.6 points and 4.8 rebounds for Siroki Primorka of Bosnia

Teyvon Myers, 18.5 points and 5.4 rebounds for Enosis of Cyprus

Jaysean Paige, 21.8 points and 5.6 assists for Newcastle of the United Kingdom

Tarik Phillip, 10.4 points and 1.9 assists for CB Clavijo of Spain

Alex Ruoff, injured knee and did not play though on the roster with Joventut of Spain

Juwan Staten, 11.0 points and 3.6 assists with Saint-Chamond of France

Brandon Watkins, 6.3 points and 5.4 rebounds for Rhoendorf in Germany

Devin Williams, 11.8 points and 10.9 rebounds with the Maine Red Claws of the NBA’s G-League

    It’s almost like we flattened our mountains and now Mountaineers are all over the world.
