Jevon Carter Reportedly Traded To Phoenix Suns
Former Mountaineer Jevon Carter, who was a second round draft choice of the Memphis Grizzlies in 2018, is reportedly part of a trade to the Phoenix Suns, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Carter played 39 games for the Grizzlies this past season, averaging 4.4 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists working mainly as a backup point guard.
In another recent trade, the Griz traded veterans starting point guard Mike Conley, leaving that No. 1 spot to rookie Ja Morant, who was the No. 2 pick of this year’s NBA Draft. It was thought Carter would battle to backup Morant in Memphis, but now J.C. will have to fight for a job in a crowded Phoenix backcourt.
The Grizzlies are trading Kyle Korver and Jevon Carter to the Suns for DeAnthony Melton, Josh Jackson 2020 second-round pick and 2021 conditional second-round pick, league sources tell ESPN.
