Oklahoma State Comes Storming Back To Defeat WVU
STILLWATER, OKLA. – West Virginia’s seemingly comfortable 31-14 halftime lead against Oklahoma State disappeared in a Cowboy onslaught in the second half, as OSU came storming back for a 45-41 victory.
WVU fell to 8-2 overall and 6-2 in the Big 12 Conference. The Mountaineers still control their own destiny in earning a spot in the Dec. 1 Big 12 championship game in Dallas, but the only way they can get to AT&T Stadium now is to defeat No. 6 Oklahoma in theie regular season finale in Morgantown this coming Friday night.
West Virginia’s Will Grier completed 27-of-48 passes for 364 yards and two TDs, but he was outdueled in the second half by his OSU counterpart, Taylor Cornelius, who completed 30-of-46 passes for 338 yards and five touchdown, as well as running for another 106 yards.
With the win, Oklahoma State improved to 6-5 overall and 3-5 in the Big 12. The Cowboys are bowl eligible for the 13th straight season.
