WV definitely looked un-Huggins like in the post last night.

Without Sags, this team is in trouble. Bender will be OK, but he is a Euro 3 playing PF at the C position. He is still trying to get it right at the PF slot and now he’s at C? WTF…. Routt, although he has some potential will be eaten alive if given minutes vs B12 C’s. He’s a body for a few mins.

WVU really morphs its players a lot, so I didn’t mean to tag Bender as a center exclusively. My fault if I messed that up. I used “post” to indicate players that can go to the blocks, or play at the free throw line and pass or drive it from there, and also act as interior defenders. Bender had a couple of nice blocks at the back of the press, and I really like Routt’s passing in the post. Right now, though, there’s not a guy that can do it all in the lane – more of a situation where each has strengths, but also areas that have to be shored up.

Like just about everything else outside of JC, there’s a lot of improvement that has to occur if WVU is going to make the tournament this year.
