Ralph Davis III Continues WVU Commitment Flurry

Texas wide receiver Ralph Davis III continued a wave of West Virginia commitments when he announced his choice of the Mountaineers on Thursday afternoon. That followed a previous week’s visit to campus where he toured the facilities and met with coaches without participating in on-field drills.
“I was very excited but I always knew in my heart I would begin my college career as a Mountaineer,” he told BlueGoldNews.com following the trip.
That statement naturally led to speculation that he would soon be committing to WVU, and he didn’t wait long after noting that he was “still thinking” about the decision. After returning home, he made the following announcement:
Davis also thanked his future position coach, Tyron Carrier, for the chance to play at WVU. The Mountaineers were his first offer, and were joined by Colorado State and Mississippi before he announced his choice. A cousin of former WVU receiver Chris Henry, Davis lived in Louisiana for several years before moving to Houston.
Davis is the ninth player in West Virginia’s Class of 2018. He’s also the fourth receiver to commit, joining Bryce Wheaton as an outside pass catcher, and Mike O’Laughlin and T.J. Ivy as tight end\HBack position targets.
