West Virginia had the score tied at 42-42 midway through the second half against No. 23 Kansas State Monday night at the WVU Coliseum, but then the Wildcats went on a 19-2 run to secure a 65-51 victory.

The loss was the seventh in the last eight games for the Mountaineers (10-16/2-11). Meanwhile the win kept K-State (20-6/10-3) atop the Big 12 Conference standings, a game in front of Texas Tech (21-5/9-4) and Kansas (20-6/9-4).

West Virginia will be back in action on Saturday, as it travels to Baylor. Tip time in Waco is 2 p.m. (eastern) and the game will be televised on ESPNU.
