Six New Names On WVU’s Roster
MORGANTOWN, W.Va.–While still awaiting official confirmation that former Oklahoma quarterback Austin Kendall had enrolled at West Virginia University, a peek at the Mountaineer football roster reveals a half dozen new names.
Three of those additions we reported on last week, as a trio of scholarship signees followed through with their pledge to enroll at WVU for the start of the spring semester. Cornerback Dreshun Miller and defensive lineman Taijh Alston, both junior college transfers, and defensive back Kerry Martin, who graduated a semester early from Capital (W.Va.) High School, all are taking classes at WVU and working out in the football team’s strength and conditioning program.
On top of those three scholarship players, West Virginia has also added a trio of true freshmen walk-ons to its roster at the mid-year. Linebacker Drew Joseph (5-9, 195 lbs.) of South Charleston (W.Va.) High School, cornerback Naim Muhammad (5-11, 187 lbs) of DeMatha (Md.) Catholic High and safety Jayvon Thrift (5-10, 197 lbs.) each enrolled at WVU for the start of the spring 2019 semester and will be working out with the Mountaineers and participating in spring practice when it starts in March.
