Two members of West Virginia’s men’s basketball recruiting class of 2020 are now officially Mountaineers.
Isaiah Cottrell and Taj Thweatt are listed on WVU’s men’s basketball roster through the athletic department website, and each has reportedly enrolled for the start of the first session of summer school at the University.

All classes at WVU this summer are being conducted online, so their enrollment doesn’t mean they are actually in Morgantown yet. The Big 12 recently announced that voluntary summer workouts for basketball players can begin on July 6, so Cottrell and Thweatt, both of whom will be true freshmen this coming year, will have to wait until next month to join their Mountaineer teammates in workouts.
West Virginia’s other signee for the class of 2020, junior college guard Kedrian Johnson, is not yet enrolled at the University, according to WVU sources. The next summer school session for West Virginia begins July 6, and the hope is the 6-foot-4, 185-pound product of Temple (Texas) College will be enrolled in that session or the following one, which starts July 27.
Cottrell, who grew up in Las Vegas but played this past season for Huntington (W.Va.) Prep, is listed at 6-10 and 220 pounds. Thweatt, a graduate of Wildwood Catholic (N.J.) High School, is listed at 6-7 and 200 pounds.
