    Different kind of player, I think, so maybe comparisons like that are tough. John was a power guy, had good quickness, but he bulled and powered his way. And he was a great player – a lot to live up to.

    Jalen right now is quicker, probably pursues better, and has good technique. Can he get enough strength to fend off the Big 12 OLs like he does in high school? I can see him getting to 275 or so, but more than that might be open to question. Never know how a youngster might grow and fill out.

    If Jalen can keep the ability to fend off blockers, I could see him being a high-numbers tackler. He just doesn’t get tied up a lot. I think his challenge will be to standing up to the pounding.
