Will Grier Highlights From WVU’s Win Over Kansas

This past Saturday, No. 6/6 West Virginia posted its fifth win (5-0, 3-0 Big 12) of the 2018 season with a 38-22 Big 12 Conference victory over Kansas. Fifth-year senior and Heisman Trophy contender Will Grier completed a season-high 28 passes in 41 attempts for 332 yards and four touchdowns. He found 10 different receivers in recording his 14th 300-yard passing performance and 15th multiple-touchdown game of his WVU career.
Grier is one of two quarterbacks in the nation to have thrown for 300 or more yards in every game this season and also is one of two quarterbacks in the nation to have an active streak of throwing three or more touchdowns in five straight games.
Grier leads the nation in touchdown passes per game (4.2). He has completed 126-of-177 passes for 1,819 yards and 21 touchdowns. He ranks No. 2 nationally in passing yards per game (363.8), No. 3 in total offense (358.4) and passing touchdowns (21), No. 5 in points responsible for (126) and points responsible for per game (25.2), No. 6 in passing efficiency (189.9) and yards per pass attempt (10.3), No. 7 in completion percentage (25.2) and passing yards (1,819), No. 8 in completion percentage (.712) and No. 14 in passing yards per completion (14.4).
Against Kansas, he threw touchdown passes of 15, 14, 12 and 17 yards, finished with 14 completions of 10 yards or more, three of 20 yards or more and one of 30 yards or more, with a long of 39 yards. He has completed 20 or more passes in 13 of 16 games as the quarterback at West Virginia. In 2018, Grier’s second-half passing stats through five games are 45-of-62 (72.6 percent), 719 yards, 10 touchdowns and one interception.
