WVU Basketball Adds Another Verbal Commitment

West Virginia’s men’s basketball program has been busy on the recruiting trail this week.

Tuesday it picked up a second commitment in as many days, as 6-foot-8, 200-pound forward Taj Thweatt announced via Twitter that he had committed to WVU.

A native of Wildwood, New Jersey, Thweatt averaged 20.2 points and 10.7 rebounds as a junior last season for Wildwood Catholic High School.

The class of 2020 power forward had recently narrowed his list to Florida, Penn State, Temple and West Virginia, and after taking a visit to WVU this past weekend, he committed to Bob Huggins’ Mountaineers.

Thweatt becomes West Virginia’s second commitment for the class of 2020, joining 6-foot-9 forward Isaiah Cottrell, who is attending Huntington (W.Va.) Prep this year.

Jalen Bridges, a 6-foot-7 forward from Fairmont, West Virginia, committed to the Mountaineers on Monday and quickly enrolled at WVU Tuesday as part of the class of 2019.
