WVU Continues Camp Run With Second Commitment
West Virginia got its second football commitment of the day as its Showtime Camp wound down when defensive back La’Darius Henry announced his choice of the Mountaineers. He followed quickly on the heels of Kerry Martin, who made WVU his selection earlier in the afternoon.
Henry previously committed to USF, but decommitted in late March. That decommittment, and a boost in his recruiting profile, followed a move from his Georgia home to Florida in search of a better high school opportunity. It also coincided with a move to the defensive secondary, where he he has recorded 97 tackles to go along with four interceptions during his first two years as a safety. With his height and closing speed, he will likely get a look at cornerback first on the WVU defense.
Henry originally hails from Georgia, where he played quarterback before heading south and landing at Gibbs High School in St. Petersburg. His commitment is the fifth this month for WVU, and brings the total number of 2019 commitments to ten.
