One of the three postponed games on the West Virginia men’s basketball slate as been rescheduled, and another future contest has been moved back one day. These changes were made by the Big 12 Conference.
The West Virginia at Baylor game, originally scheduled for Jan. 12, and postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Mountaineer program, has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18 at 5:00 p.m. ET in Waco, Texas. The game will be televised by ESPN2.
That change means the Mountaineers will face the Bears back-to-back, with the first game on Feb. 15 in Morgantown.
Additionally, West Virginia’s game at TCU, originally scheduled for Feb. 22, has been moved to Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 5:00 p.m. ET in Fort Worth, Texas. The game will also be televised by ESPN2.
WVU faces Texas on the road on Feb. 20, and is expected to remain in Texas after facing the Longhorns before travelling from Austin to Fort Worth to meet the Horned Frogs.
West Virginia did get a bit of help with its travel in the rescheduling of the Baylor game, as the modified time of the previous 9:00 p.m. tip will allow the Mountaineers to get home earlier than its normal wee hours of the morning arrival time.
WVU still has two postponed games to be rescheduled – home games against TCU and Oklahoma State — that were originally set for Jan. 16 and 19, respectively. Those games could potentially be slotted into the open week between the end of the regular season (Feb. 27) and the start of the Big 12 Championship (Mar. 10.)
